How to Prepare a Board Presentation

A board presentation is among the most important things a leader team can do. It’s an opportunity for the management team to discuss its goals and priorities with the board so it can determine how well it’s doing and if Go Here it’s on the right track. The board also gets a good idea of where the company is within its field and in comparison to its competition.

A well-designed board presentation should consist of high-level information (such as balance sheets, income statements or cash flow statements) and more visual representations of the information. Charts that present numbers in a context connecting them to time frames or company goals, as well as competitor performance are incorporated. Also assets that illustrate a specific strategy (such as images of websites or social media ad) can be used.

Another aspect that helps make a good board presentation is speaking in a terms that the board understands, and uses. It is better to employ familiar metaphors that are easy to comprehend and relate to, like the business’s growth or growing it, rather than using technical terms that can be confusing or overwhelming. Also, it means avoiding the jargon and incorporating an alphabetical glossary.

The board will also want to know how your strategy will affect the bottom line and what’s required for that. It’s beneficial to talk with the person who invited you to present before the meeting, or at a minimum talk briefly on the phone to get a feel of the focus and to find out if there’s any important points to include in your board presentation.
